People can evaluate you with these manner :
- The way you look - are you well groomed? properly dressed?
- Voice - do you speak in a confident manner?
- Write - Are you observing proper writing etiquette?
- Move - do you project boldly?
What is Rapport?
Rapport happens when two or more people tend to harmonized with each other because they relate well and feel similar.
It's the level of connection that you are able to establish with others, the feeling of being comfortable with someone and trusting them.
Putting them at ease and make them enjoy that you are there.
People are receptive to people like themselves.
Ever comes to a certain point of time wondering WHY we LIKE or DISLIKE someone?
Rapport happens at the subconscious level which will lead us to question on How can we implement it consciously to help us build relationship with others quickly and easily.
How To Get Into Rapport With Someone?
Open a small talk, with these you may uncover common things like :
- Hobbies
- Acquaintances
- Books to read
- Mentors
- etc.
- Visual
- Auditory
- Kinaesthetic
You can figure out if your prospect is Visual if they speak this way :
- I get the picture
- I see what you mean
- Can you imagine that?
- Listen to what I'm saying
- We need to talk
- I can tell by your tone
- I didn't hear that clearly
- I get the feeling that
- I need concrete evidence
- Give me the hard facts
Build That Relationship Fast Now !!!
- Promote your credibility - this is what you call Posturing or Positioning yourself as an expert in your field. People tend to listen and trust Leaders.
- Your own website
- Your own blog
- Your own book
- Your credentials
TIP : That's why it's a must to allow your top earners or uplines help you talk with your prospects.
- Reframing - is a certain form of technique in Active Listening where in you paraphrase what ever it is your prospect is saying. Paraphrase is stating in your own words.This will assist you to build rapport by convincing your prospects that you are really following what they are saying.
- Body Language and Gesture
Projecting like educated man gives you an edge. Be a gentleman as I would say.
- Mirror your prospects Body Language
Gesture - when it's your turn to talk use the same hand gesture they have used
Facial Expression - match their expression as a form of acknowledgement of their emotion.
- Hypnotic Breathing
- Pace with the rate of their speech
- Eye Contact
* DO NOT BE OBVIOUS ON MIRRORING AND MATCHING YOUR PROSPECTS - for this will backfire all of your efforts while using the techniques
Subtlety is the key with mirroring.
